  The community at the Convent of the Holy Spirit, located at 319 Waukegan Road, started in the year 2000 when more than 100 sisters moved from the old building on 2600 Waukegan Road to the current facility. Since then, the number of sisters has diminished and currently we are 22 SSpS living in the main house. Since 2024 we have shared our space with 12 Sisters of Christian Charity who have found a new home among us.
  
  Sisters living in this community perform different kind of ministries such as Province Administration and Finances, JPIC ministry, Ongoing Formation, Province Archives, Juniors Directress, Parish ministry, Food Pantry, Feed my Starving Children, ESL classes, Spanish classes, Initial Formation classes for new members. English and Spanish translations for Congregational events and documents. Ministries in the house include Liturgy team, Organist, Sacristan, Florist, Drivers, Hospitality (Entrance – room for guests), Health care for the sisters, a contact person to keep in touch with family members and friends of elderly sister.
  
  The sisters who are unable to perform any physical or other specific ministry are the ones that with their interest in our common mission and with their prayers, sustain and intercede before God for the well-being, success and commitment of those who work in the open field.
