Holy Spirit Life Learning Center

An outreach ministry of the Holy Spirit Missionary Sisters, the Holy Spirit Life Learning Center (HSLLC) is open to all persons and seeks to support individuals, especially women and children, as they grow in faith and work to improve their standard of living. The HSLLC collaborates with other institutions and community members in our common efforts to help others to develop self-confidence, interpersonal relationships, and skills for better living.

Empowering Women, Nurturing Families

At the Holy Spirit Life Learning Center we provide a welcoming space for all families, especially for women and children, where they can feel supported, grow in self-confidence, and develop new friendships. We provide a safe space for individuals to engage in practicing their faith by attending Bible classes, faith sharing groups, or participating in one-on-one spiritual companionship.
We also support victims and survivors of domestic violence by providing services such as case management,
support groups, counseling, and education and
awareness workshops.

Purpose-Goals

The specific objectives and purposes of the Holy Spirit Life Learning Center are:

To provide educational and skill building programs that reflect the needs of the Community.
To provide a safe space for individuals to engage in practicing their faith by attending Bible classes, faith sharing groups, or participating in one-on-one spiritual companionship.
To support victims and survivors of domestic violence by providing services such as case management, support groups, counseling, and education and awareness workshops.

In order to meet the changing needs of the people in the areas surrounding the Holy Spirit Life Learning Center, we expand and redefine our programs and services from time to time.

OUR STANCE

Outreach Services

We provide the following programs and services in Rogers Park:

English as a Second Language (ESL) classes
Basic Computer Skills
Bible courses
Domestic Abuse Program: case management, counseling, support group, and educational and awareness workshops.
After School Homework Assistance for children
Sewing and Knitting classes
Summer Peace Camp for children and youth

The Holy Spirit Life Learning Center relies on the generous support of caring community members to sustain our mission. Help us continue to support the residents of Chicago’s north side and Wheeling by:

Keeping the families we serve, all the volunteers, staff, and Sisters in your prayers.
Donating supplies and materials for the various programs.
Becoming a volunteer.

The HSLLC is a 501 (c)(3) organization; donations made to the HSLLC are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
