Bl. Maria Helena's Story

"My greatest wish is to do what God wants of me and to be where he would have me."
Birthdate

Arnold Janssen was born in Goch, Germany, Lower Rhine area.

Entrance

She came into contact with St. Arnold Janssen who had founded his mission institute in Steyl, Holland. At the end of December that year Bl. Maria Helena went to Steyl, although there was no women’s congregation as yet.

She became a postulant and after some time began her novitiate.

In Remembrance

Her contemplative life, in less than 2 years, brought her Missionary vocation to perfection. On February 3, 1900, cerebral tuberculosis extinguished her earthly life. Being a novice, she was allowed to advance her profession of vows as Sister of the cloister, with the name of Maria Virgo.

Beatification

Bl. Maria Helena was "beatified" (called Blessed) by the Church.
